Notes:Rare scroll by Gakusui (well-known as a woodblock print artist), hand-painted on cream silk with gorgeous gold silk surround. Deluxe glazed pottery end roller. Artist signature and seal at lower right of image area. Includes original artist-signed and sealed scroll box. Each flower/plant symbolises spring, summer, fall and winter. Painted area is 41.7 x 109cm.
The last image compares two Ide Gakusui signatures from woodblock prints (left and centre) with this scroll's signature (right).
