Presented here is a set of four Ando Hiroshige kacho-e (flower and bird) prints , originally published in 1832. Each print is in mitsugiri-sized format of 15.5 x 7.5 inches and is tip-mounted to its own windowed folder. The four prints and folders are held nicely in a green-coloured album with series title and gold embossing. This lovely album was published for the Sumitomo Bank by Takamizawa Ukiyo-e Company in the 1980s, and given to special customers of the bank. Takamizawa is well respected in the woodblock print community, and is considered to be one of the best producers of fine Ukiyo-e and shin-hanga restrike woodblock prints, due to their particularly fine craftsmanship and attention to carving and printing detail. This set of four prints is a superb example of their work.
