Comments: As all serious Hasui collectors will know, original pre-war oban-sized prints of this series from Hasui's collaboration with the publisher Bijutsusha are very rare items indeed and sell for close to $1000 when in fine condition. Even rarer still are the little-known postcard-sized prints from this same series -- until recently I had not seen even a single example over a period of many years. Thus, the acquisition of not only a complete set of eight prints, but also the original folder as issued by Bijutsusha is a very rare event. Each postcard-sized print shows fine woodblock carving detail and is fortunately still lightly tipped to its original hand-made washi backing containing the print title in English and Japanese. The publication of this series was supervised by Mr Nagazawa Kosuke of Bijutsusha. On each print: black Hasui signature, artist seal (rare yellow seal for Mount Unzen), and margin title in Japanese. This series has never been reprinted.
