Bijin-Ga Artists
  • Hoshino Gashu (1932-)

  • Hoshino Gashu was born in Saitama-Ken in 1932. Gashu's style is similar to that of the bijin-ga masters Kiyokata and Shinsui, in that his bijin subjects express a purity and refreshing eloquence typical of those by the early Showa-Era bijin-ga masters.

  • Shimizu Etsuo (1953-)

  • Shimizu Etsuo can only be described as a genius, a prodigy! He is a master painter of photo-realistic oil paintings of female forms and still life, and his outstanding ability is unsurpassed in this field of art. In Japan his paintings are rare and sell at a high premium.

  • Higuchi Tomomaro (1898-1981)

  • Higuchi Tomimaro was a student of Kitano Tsunetomi. He was born in Osaka in the Kinki district. He studied at, and graduated from, the Kyoto City Specialist School of Painting. Tomimaro worked as a painter, printmaker, and illustrator. He became an established artist, and exhibited regularly at the great art shows at Bunten, Teiten and Inten.
